Linfield community to make a difference in Yamhill County

McMINNVILLE – One hundred and fifty Linfield College students, faculty and staff will volunteer their services throughout Yamhill County on Saturday, Oct. 24, during Make A Difference Day.

Make A Difference Day is a national day of service throughout the U.S., and prompts corporations, government leaders, charitable organizations and individuals to volunteer and perform service projects for one day.

Volunteers will serve on projects for Linfield, Third Street McMinnville Downtown Association, Salvation Army Community Garden, Habitat Restore, Gallery Theatre, Marion Polk Food Share, Miller Woods, McMinnville Senior Center, Henderson House and Carlton Yamhill Elementary School.

This year, participants will serve by doing a variety of activities, including painting, raking leaves, working in a community garden and working on a greenhouse structure.

Make A Difference Day is the most encompassing national day of helping others – a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. It is a national event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of every October.
