Linfield University has officially partnered with Niche’s Direct Admissions® program, becoming the first private college in Oregon to participate. The initiative offers a streamlined, student-centered path to college by proactively admitting qualified students based on their Niche profile.
Niche Direct Admissions is designed to reduce barriers and simplify the college search process. Through direct admission programs like Niche, high school seniors can receive admission offers from participating institutions without submitting a traditional application. In Oregon, Portland State University and Oregon Institute of Technology also take part in the program.
Linfield’s involvement highlights the university’s commitment to widening opportunity and reducing uncertainty in the admission process. It supports students as they take their next steps toward college.
“Joining the Niche Direct Admissions program aligns with Linfield’s mission to meet students where they are and support them every step of the way,” said Gerardo Ochoa, vice president for enrollment and student success. “This program removes uncertainty from the college search and opens doors for students who might not see themselves as college bound. We’re excited to offer a clear, welcoming path to a Linfield education.”
Through Niche Direct Admissions, eligible students receive early, personalized notifications of their admission to Linfield. From there, they can connect with the admission team, staff and faculty, explore scholarships and financial aid, and learn more about academic programs and everything Linfield has to offer.
The partnership supports Linfield’s broader work to expand affordability, strengthen student success and provide a highly personalized educational experience in the Pacific Northwest.
