Linfield earns top 50 placing in national blood drive

August 6, 2015 by Linfield News Team

By Linfield News Team

Blood driveThe hard work of Linfield College nursing students is making a difference to the Red Cross.

In April, students hosted a Red Cross blood drive on the Portland Campus as part of the National Cesar E. Chavez Blood Drive Challenge, an initiative to promote civic engagement, health education and careers, and save lives.

Thanks to the leadership of Nicole Kachel ‘16 and Olivia Fragoso ‘15, as well as a number of other student volunteers, Linfield finished 47th in the challenge results out of 333 colleges and universities nationwide. Linfield joined Portland State University as the only other Oregon school to finish in the top 50.

The Linfield drive was sponsored by the Associated Students of Linfield College-Portland Campus and the Multicultural Student Nurses.
