Philanthropy WeekLinfield for Life, the student alumni association at Linfield College, is celebrating Philanthropy Week, Nov. 14-17, with Tag Day, a thank-a-thon and student interviews.

Throughout the week, students are encouraged to sign thank you cards to one or more of Linfield’s generous donors. Stop by Dillin Hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Nicholson Library from 7-10 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, and Thursday, Nov. 17, to share your gratitude.

On Tuesday students and faculty will be interviewed and videotaped about their Linfield experience. Their clips can be viewed online and on the Linfield College Instagram page. The Portland Campus will also be celebrating Philanthropy Week with its first ever thank-a-thon on Tuesday. Free lunch will also be provided during the lunch hours in The Den.

Wednesday, Tag Day, Linfield students will wake up to large signs resembling gift tags placed around campus highlighting how gifts from alumni, parents and friends make a difference. Philanthropic gifts supporting building and technology improvements, scholarships, financial aid, research opportunities and much more will be showcased.

“We want to show students just how lucky we are to be a part of the Linfield family and give thanks to all those who make our unique experiences possible,” said senior Danielle Duman, one of the student coordinators of Philanthropy Week. “I hope that this week also inspires current students to give back and make future Wildcats’ experiences the best possible just as those before us have done.”

Linfield for Life cultivates institutional pride, tradition and lifelong loyalty within the Linfield community. Through social, educational and philanthropic programs, they educate members of the Linfield community about the college’s rich history and about the benefits of staying involved, while enhancing the student experience and building lifelong bonds with the college.
