Linfield remains in contention for fifth national crown

Linfield College footballLinfield returns to the national semifinals for the first time since 2009 to face defending champion UW-Whitewater, Saturday, Dec. 13, at 12:30 p.m. PST.

Sam Riddle ’17 threw five touchdown passes and Alex Hoff ’16 had a hand in five sacks as Linfield (11-1) dominated previously unbeaten Widener (Pa.) 45-7 in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III playoffs Dec. 6 in Pennsylvania. Read the full release.

There are five ways to follow the play-by-play action from Wisconsin:

WATCH THE VIDEOCAST ON ESPN3
ESPN3, a web-based video portal, is providing free video coverage of both semifinals games. Wayne Randazzo will call the play-by-play action with Forrest Connoly providing analysis.  To watch, select the “Watch Live” link, then locate the game listing under “Football” and then select Linfield vs. Wisconsin-Whitewater (Semifinal #2). The Linfield-UWW game is scheduled to be rebroadcast on ESPNU, a cable TV channel, on Friday, Dec. 19, at 10 a.m. PST. Consult your local cable service to see if ESPNU is included with your specific carrier’s package.

LISTEN TO THE AUDIOCAST ON THE RADIO
For local fans in the Portland and Yamhill County areas, an audio account of the game can be heard across the radio airwaves on stations TrueTalk 800 KPDQ-AM in Portland and KLYC 1260 AM in Yamhill County. Bill Johnson and Dave Hansen bring you the action.

LISTEN TO THE AUDIOCAST ON THE INTERNET
An internet simulcast of the radio broadcast is available, simply click on “Listen Live” on this page and select the game from the listing. Pregame coverage starts at noon PST.

KEEP TRACK OF THE STATS
Live stats is a free service that enables computer users to follow a visual accounting of the game statistics. To follow, click on “Live Stats.”

ATTEND A WATCH PARTY
Alumni, parents and fans of Linfield football are invited to Wildcat game day get-togethers in Portland (at Lloyd Center Buffalo Wild Wings) and McMinnville (in Ice Auditorium). These events are family-friendly and all Wildcat fans are encouraged to wear their Linfield apparel. RSVP online and be entered into a drawing for prizes from the Linfield Bookstore. Saturday’s winner advances to the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl in Salem, Va., to play the winner of the other semifinal match up between Mount Union (Ohio) and Wesley (Del.) on Friday, Dec. 19, at 4 p.m. PST. That game is scheduled to air on ESPNU.
