Linfield College student choirs will perform music from hit Broadway musicals and well-known composers.
“Resistance, Revolution, and Renewal” will explore this year’s Program for Liberal Arts and Civic Engagement (PLACE) theme of “Revolutions” and will connect resistance and revolution in the face of war, oppression and injustice. The Fall Choir Concert will take place on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 4 p.m. in Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium at Linfield College.
Directed by Anna Song, the concert will feature the Linfield College Concert Choir, the Wildcat Men’s Glee Club and Cascara Voce. The program will include songs from the hit Broadway musicals “Les Misérables” and “Hamilton,” as well as music by William Byrd, Maddalena Casulana, Zoltan Kodaly, Giuseppe Verdi, Moses Hogan and others.
Song, associate professor of music and choral director, received her bachelor’s degree in composition from UCLA and her master’s degree in conducting from the School of Music and the Institution of Sacred Music at Yale University.
