This month more than 70 Linfield students joined Linfield’s Black Student Union and the school’s Change Corps group in celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr., volunteering their time and talents.
Volunteers served at nonprofit organizations throughout the community, upholding King’s legacy of promoting equality for all.
Oregon college students rank eighth in the nation for volunteering, and hundreds of Linfield College students join the outreach effort each year, volunteering in both local and global communities.
Linfield students focus primarily on sustainability, health care, outreach to those who are homeless or hungry, and mentorship of disadvantaged youth.
Linfield was named to the 2012 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll in recognition of outstanding leadership in community engagement and service learning.
