When a new high school teacher finds a notebook left behind by her younger, deceased sister, she embarks on a journey through the world of “Dungeons & Dragons” and discovers the dreams and struggles of a sibling that she never really knew.
“She Kills Monsters” by Qui Nguyen continues the Linfield Theatre Program’s 99th season of plays as part of its focus on “Monsters and the Monstrous.” This coming-of-age story blends comedy and fantasy in a thoughtful meditation on family and identity.
As part of Linfield’s PLACE (Program for Liberal Arts and Civic Engagement) theme of “Revolutions,” the production explores revolutions on an individual level: what happens when one person’s understanding of the world is expanded to include a diverse range of people and experiences?
Performance dates are March 13-16 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee on Sunday, March 17, at 2 p.m. in the Marshall Theatre in Ford Hall on the Linfield campus. A panel discussion on “Monsters, Wish Fulfillment and Family” will be held following the March 13 performance. A short post-show “Behind the Scenes” question and answer discussion with the creative team will be held March 15.
