Tickets for a staged reading of “The Vagina Monologues” at Linfield University go on sale at noon Wednesday, Jan. 28, at www.linfield.edu/arts.
The production begins at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13 in the Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium in Melrose Hall on Linfield’s McMinnville campus. Performers include Linfield students and faculty, community members and alumni. Proceeds will benefit Henderson House, Yamhill County’s domestic violence shelter.
Written by V (formerly Eve Ensler), “The Vagina Monologues” has been published in more than 48 languages and performed in more than 140 countries. The New York Times has recognized the work as one of the most important plays of the past 25 years. Based on interviews with women around the world, the play offers a powerful blend of humor, compassion and candor. The text explores themes of identity, sexuality and empowerment.
Performing “The Vagina Monologues” inspired V to create V-Day, the 22-year-old global activist movement to end violence against women, including cisgender and transgender women, people with fluid or nonbinary identities, girls and the planet.
The Linfield Theatre Program previously hosted a staged reading of “The Vagina Monologues” to a full crowd in February 2020. That performance was also a fundraiser for Henderson House.
Tickets to the 2026 event are $14 for general admission and $10 for students ages 16 and older. Seating is first come, first served. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
NOTE: The production contains mature subject matter and language. Recommended for audience members ages 16 and older.
Special thanks to Linfield Theatre’s Second Stage Productions, who is sponsoring the production. “The Vagina Monologues” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Dramatists Play Service.
