Linfield’s Spring Choral Concert celebrates love and diversity in music on March 19

Linfield's concert choir performs

The Linfield University Department of Music presents the Spring Choral Concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, March in the Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium inside Melrose Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

The concert will showcase the diversity and talent of Linfield’s choral groups as they perform a varied selection of music. The audience can expect to hear a wide range of genres from the Concert Choir, Cascara Voce and Wildcat Glee Club. The program features works by women, black composers and works about love, combining the elements of February’s Black History Month and Valentine’s Day with March’s Women’s History Month.

“This concert is a celebration of the incredible contributions made by women and black composers to the world of music,” said Julie Cross, director of choral activities. “We are thrilled to present a program that reflects our commitment to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in the arts.”

This March 19 concert is Cross’ first as director of choral activities at Linfield University.
