Online and Continuing Education announces three new majors

Linfield entranceLinfield College Online and Continuing Education has announced three new majors: an online global studies degree, an online project management degree and an online project management certificate program.

Linfield College Online and Continuing Education, a fully accredited institution, allows students to earn degrees on a flexible schedule. These new programs are part of Linfield’s effort to offer degrees and certificates for competitive career paths.

The global studies degree offers insights into foreign cultures, world events, the economy, social movements and globalization. The project management degree covers project integration, scheduling, scope and planning, human resources, communication quality, costs, monitoring and procurement. The project management certificate program covers the fundamentals and prepares students for the PMP or CAPM certificate examinations.

“Linfield is committed to the highest academic standards,” said Director of Online and Continuing Education Laura Brener. “We are very excited about our new degree and certificate programs, which were all developed to help our students enhance their careers or jump into a new industry while taking classes on a flexible schedule. We cannot wait to see all the opportunities that open up to the graduates of these new majors.”

The online global studies degree gives students a new appreciation for the world around them through the study of politics, history, religion and culture. The in-depth online course analyzes how historical and cultural traditions mold people’s lives. By investigating other cultures from a global perspective, students discover the contemporary trends and events that shape global society. The global studies degree helps students pursue careers in international business, advocacy, foreign service, academics and politics.

The online project management degree’s curriculum is based on meeting the competencies outlined by the Project Management Institute, the world’s largest non-profit project management association. This degree is applicable in healthcare, construction, education, operations management, supply chain management, business and financial services, information technology and other fields.

The project management certificate program covers the fundamentals of the project management degree and also prepares students for certificate examinations. The certificate program can help students transition into education, construction, healthcare, operations management and other fields.
