Portland Tribune says Linfield College music prof finds passion in singing, joy in teaching

December 17, 2012 by Linfield News Team

The Portland Tribune and Sherwood Gazette profiled music Professor Anton Belov, a nationally renowned baritone who has wowed audiences throughout the United States.

No less than The New York Times has praised Belov’s “rich, mellifluous voice” and “soulful pathos.”

At Linfield College, Belov teaches everything from voice to the history of music, and says his students are often surprised by the fact they like classical music.

When not singing or teaching, Belov is often woodworking, and listening to Johnny Cash.
