The Board of Trustees of the Oregon Alliance of Independent Colleges and Universities (“The Alliance”) elected Miles K. Davis, president of Linfield University, as its new chair at their meeting on Sept.16.
The Alliance serves as the collective voice of private education regarding public policy advocacy in Oregon. The organization is comprised of 15 private, nonprofit, independent colleges and universities.
“I am humbled and honored to be selected as the Chair of the Board of Trustees of The Alliance at this most challenging of times in higher education,” Davis said. “I look forward to working with my fellow college and university presidents as we carve out a sustainable future for private higher education in Oregon.”
Davis succeeds Mark Swenson, chief executive officer of Shepherd’s Grain, who chaired The Alliance from October 2018 to September 2020. Davis’ term as chair will conclude in September 2022.
