Diamond’s carbon reduction tips garner media attention

Chemistry Professor Jim DiamondIn a recent piece in The Oregonian, Linfield chemistry professor James Diamond offered practical steps for reducing your carbon footprint.

“I have spoken with my chemistry students about this subject frequently. They respond as any intelligent person would – with worry, concern and a hunger to learn how they can make a difference.  Here is what I urge them – and each of us – to do,” Diamond wrote. Take a look at the piece to see his suggestions.

The following week, Diamond chatted with KXRY’s Carl Wolfson about the piece and the need for reducing CO2 emissions. Listen at the 1:04:00 mark for his interview.

Diamond’s research includes molecular modeling, ab initio calculations of electronic structure problems, and fundamental aspects of quantum mechanics. He has been a professor at Linfield since 1991.
