The Readings at the Nick series returns to Linfield University with J.T. Bushnell ’02, senior instructor of writing and literature at Oregon State University. Bushnell will be reading from his debut novel “The Step Back” at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21 in the Jereld R. Nicholson Library Austin Reading Room. The event is free and open to the public. Face coverings are required at all Linfield events.
“The Step Back” was published earlier in 2021 by Ooligan Press. It is a story of basketball, family life, being a man and being an adult.
Bushnell’s essays on writing and craft have appeared in Poets & Writers magazine and elsewhere. His short fiction has been published in Passages North, Iron Horse, Mississippi Review and many other journals.
