Linfield College seniors Grey Patterson and Sophia Reinhardt will perform music compositions they have written on Friday, May 11, at 7 p.m. in the Delkin Recital Hall of the Vivian A. Bull Music Center on campus. The compositions include chamber pieces and digital media.
Patterson will graduate in May with a double major in music and computer science. During his Linfield career, he performed in the Concert Choir and Wildcat Men’s Glee Club. He worked as a student researcher in computational musicology and completed an internship with the Castleman Quartet Program as a program coordinator. He began composing during his second year at Linfield. As a composer, his focus has been on minimalism, emergent patterns and electronic music.
Reinhardt will graduate in May with a bachelor of arts degree in music. She has studied piano, composition, cello and conducting. Her music is inspired by travel, art and outdoor activities. In 2017, she wrote an original soundtrack for “One Giant Leap,” a short film by students at George Fox University. For the Linfield Theatre, she composed incidental music for the plays “Ada and the Engine” and “Silent Sky,” both for the 2017-18 season.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit www.linfield.edu/arts or call 503-883-2275.
