Linfield University’s Spark Wonder fundraising campaign has been recognized nationally with seven creative awards from the University & College Designers Association (UCDA). The judges evaluated more than 600 print and digital entries—presenting three Awards of Excellence and four Honorable Mention Awards to Linfield and Michael Patrick Partners, the partner creative agency responsible for the work. The Spark Wonder campaign received top honors in the categories of development information, best use of printing process – specialty process and website – development/fundraising.
Linfield enlisted Michael Patrick Partners to help with communications strategy and design of marketing assets for the $75 million comprehensive campaign, the largest fundraising campaign in the school’s history. The cornerstone of the collateral developed included a 32-page coffee-table case statement, which was complemented by a suite of videos, giving website, fundraising priority brochures, information sheets, donor presentation, organic social media posts and a campaign asset guide.
“We are honored to have the Spark Wonder campaign materials recognized,” said Joseph Hunter, vice president for university advancement at Linfield. “This suite of campaign collateral represents the level of excellence Linfield strives for in all areas. We’re proud of the work.”
Robert Maidens and Keith Pacoma—the Michael Patrick Partner’s lead creative team—conceived the brand story.
These awards are a testament to Linfield University and Michael Patrick Partners’ shared goal to settle for nothing less than creative excellence,” Pacoma said.
Linfield has already raised $61 million as part of the Spark Wonder campaign, which includes gifts supporting its people, places, and programs. One of the most visible outcomes of the Spark Wonder campaign will be the Linfield University Science Complex, a leading-edge facility consisting of 84,000 square feet of collaborative research space, a wine studies lab and the new W.M. Keck Science Center.
