Grateful students share Thanksgiving sentiments

November 24, 2015 by Linfield News Team

Linfield College nursing studentsAs Linfield College students on the Portland Campus prepared for Thanksgiving Break, they were asked a simple question… What are you thankful for as a Linfield student? Here’s what they said.

I am thankful for all of the amazing faculty members that have enriched my nursing school experience. Through your dedication, support, and belief, in my abilities, I have seen myself grow while rising to a higher level of performance. You gave me tools, led by example and helped me navigate difficult experiences. Thank you for making me proud to be becoming a nurse and being a part of this incredible journey.

I am thankful for the way that Linfield looks out for its students. During a difficult time there were several people who reached out to me and helped me when I needed support.

I am thankful for the huge support system that I am lucky enough to be blessed with at Linfield College. I feel so supported by not only my professors, but also the staff and my peers. I am so thankful for the four years that Linfield has given me and I am sad that my time here is almost over.

I am thankful for the amazing friendships I have made during my time at Linfield School of Nursing. I feel blessed to be surrounded by such compassionate, caring, well-educated men and women.

I am thankful for a faculty member who provided advice to me when I was having doubts about my career goals and my abilities. I am glad I had someone to turn to! Thank you!

I am thankful for my amazing fellow classmates! I’m grateful to have them by my side every step of the way during this crazy adventure called nursing school!

I am thankful for a certain staff member and all the multiple Hi-Fi lab organizers! They do an amazing job organizing and conducting simulations. This semester I learned how to integrate priority care with actual life-like situations with relatable clients. The time she spent working with our clinical group to uncover underlying issues and expose critical medication interactions was so appreciated. I learned so much!

I am thankful for a certain department that encourages my creativity and provides consistent support.

I am thankful for clinical instructors, professors, and school faculties. They have been providing me feedback with encouragement, support, and tools. Thank you so much!

I am forever thankful for a student who has been my rock through this entire nursing school endeavor. She is my planner, and ensures that every assignment is turned in on time. She is my exercise partner, and pushes me on days when all I want to do is lay in bed. On cheat days, she will consume an entire tub of cookie dough with me. She knows that the way to my heart is through Burgerville shakes, and has one waiting for me at home on my worst days. Student, you know who you are. Thank you!

I am thankful for a school that I am more than a number at, that faculty and staff know my name, and know my passion to become a nurse!
