Almost 500 new Linfield College students have arrived on the McMinnville Campus this week for the first day of classes.
The Class of 2016 includes 24 high school valedictorians and 28 student body officers, along with 128 National Honors Society members. New students also bring talents in everything from music to chess to taekwondo. A special welcome goes to 84 first-generation college students.
Almost half of Linfield’s new students come from Oregon, but they also hail from far-flung states, along with Asia, South America and Europe.
Seventy-one additional students began nursing studies today at the Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing on Linfield’s Portland Campus.
Linfield’s nursing major is a transfer-only program located on the Portland Campus in vibrant Northwest Portland. Students apply to the nursing program after completing pre-requisites at Linfield’s McMinnville Campus, other 4-year colleges and universities, or community colleges.
