The Zingaresca Ensemble, featuring Linfield University’s Anton Belov, will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21 in the Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium inside Melrose Hall on Linfield’s McMinnville campus. The performance, part of this year’s Linfield Lively Arts Concert Series, is free to both the Linfield community and the general public.

The Zingaresca Ensemble is comprised of baritone Anton Belov, a professor of music at Linfield, and Vadim Kolpakov and Oleg Timofeyev on guitar. In the Italian language, “Zingaresca” means “in a gypsy style.” In similar form, this trio interweaves classical Eastern European guitar heritage with the best traditions of the Romani and Jewish diaspora, creating a sound that combines classical and folk music styles.

Zingaresca Ensemble is currently in the middle of a tour throughout the Pacific Northwest. Tickets for other shows are available on their website at www.zingaresca.info.

The Linfield Lively Arts Concert Series brings world-class musicians and ensembles to Linfield University for concerts, masterclasses, open rehearsals and “Meet the Musician” events with students and local audiences. The series continues with a performance from the Heath Quartet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19. More information on the Lively Art Concert Series is at https://linfield.edu/music/lively-art-concert-series.html.
