Christian Science Monitor publishes op-ed from recent alum

In editorials in The Oregonian and The Christian Science Monitor, Nadia Abraibesh ’10 makes an eloquent plea for American support of Libya, where she has family.

“This is a conflict that is very close to my heart, and I want Americans to know how important they are to the Libyan people,” Abraibesh wrote. “U.S. action in Libya saved my family’s lives.”

Abraibesh is a Libyan American who spent the last six months in Benghazi, visiting family after her graduation from Linfield College. In Benghazi, she joined protest rallies and served as an informal interpreter for Western journalists. She will soon serve with Teach for America.
