Linfield University is the No. 1 private college in Oregon for online bachelor’s degrees, according to U.S. News & World Report. The university is listed among the 2026 Best Online Bachelor’s Programs announced by the publication. U.S. News evaluated online undergraduate programs based on a variety of factors, such as student engagement, faculty credentials and services and technologies.

Linfield, which is tied at No. 125 overall, has owned the title of Oregon’s top private college for online undergraduate education since 2013.

“Being recognized again as Oregon’s top private college for online bachelor’s degrees reflects Linfield’s deep commitment to student success,” said Garry Killgore, Ph.D., Linfield’s director of lifelong learning. “Our online programs are intentionally designed to meet students where they are — providing high-quality, flexible learning experiences that support their goals and lead to meaningful outcomes.”

In addition, U.S. News also recognized Linfield on its 2026 Best Online Bachelor’s in Business Programs list. It is the only private college in Oregon on the list.

Linfield offers undergraduate and graduate degrees online, as well as certificates and endorsements in the following fields:

  • Accounting
  • Business
  • Education
  • Environmental studies
  • International business
  • Management
  • Marketing
  • Nonprofit management
  • Sports science and analytics

In its 14th year, the U.S. News Best Online Programs is designed for individuals looking to complete or further their education. This year’s edition evaluates more than 1,800 online bachelor’s and master’s degree programs using metrics specific to online learning. The rankings include only degree-granting programs offered primarily online by regionally accredited institutions.

“What sets the top-ranked online programs apart is their commitment to delivering flexible coursework for professionals, parents, and service members seeking to advance their careers and broaden their knowledge,” said LaMont Jones, Ed.D., managing editor for education at U.S. News. “Our rigorous evaluation focuses on student engagement and support to highlight programs truly built for the modern learner.” Prospective students can see how Linfield compares to other institutions and how the rankings are calculated on USNews.com.
