“No Madness in Mexico” guest lecture planned
As part of Women’s History Month, Laura Shelton, associate professor of history at Franklin and Marshall University, will present “No Madness in Mexico: Understanding Infanticide Trials in the Nineteenth Century.” The lecture will take place Monday, March 12, at 7 p.m. in the Austin Reading Room in Nicholson Library.
Patrick Cottrell asks if the U.S. is ‘Dead Wrong’ during faculty lecture
Patrick Cottrell, associate professor of political science, will present “Dead Wrong: Will the United States Repeat the Mistakes of the Iraq War in North Korea and Iran?” on Wednesday, March 14, at 7 p.m. in Fred Meyer Lounge in Riley Hall at Linfield.
National Spanglish Day event set
Linfield College will celebrate National Spanglish Day Thursday, March 15, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in 311 Walker Hall. Students are encouraged to submit their creative pieces in Spanglish in three categories: poem, essay and short story. Norwegian trumpet concert set at Linfield
Linfield College will welcome visiting musicians from Norway. Guest trumpeters Ingrid Eliassen and Ekaterina Isayevskaya will present “The Arctic Trumpet,” a concert with Norwegian repertoire for trumpet and piano, on Thursday, March 15, at 7 p.m. in the Delkin Recital Hall in the Vivian A. Bull Music Center at Linfield.

Linfield Gallery hosts ‘Futility of Preparedness’ exhibit and performance
Linfield Gallery presents “Futility of Preparedness,” an exhibition and performance featuring Portland-based artist group Physical Education. The exhibit, which opened Feb. 14, will continue to change and evolve as both a site-specific installation and as a staging ground for an original performance. A Movement Workshop with Physical Education will be held Wednesday, March 14, at 6 p.m. at the Chehalem Cultural Center. It is free and open to the public.
Student presents on studying abroad in Ireland
