Portland Business Journal honors three young alumni

Each year, the Portland Business Journal recognizes 40 overachievers under the age of 40. The 2013 list includes three Linfield College alumni, each of whom is expected to have a big impact on Oregon in the years ahead.

MARY LAGO ’97 parlayed her Linfield business degree into a career as a vice president and relationship manager at Washington Trust Bank. The team she leads assists individuals and business owners with investment management, financial planning and trust administration. It also advises charitable foundations throughout the Pacific Northwest on endowment management and philanthropic giving.

The Linfield graduate serves as a board trustee for Albertina Kerr Centers Foundation and chairs its Investment and Planned Giving Committee. She also serves on the boards of Oregon Health and Science University Foundation and the Estate Planning Council of Portland.

LINCOLN BACH ’95 graduated from Linfield with an accounting degree and is now a financial executive with GreenWood Resources, a global timberland investment company that develops and manages sustainable, environmentally-certified tree farms. Last year, leading financial services provider TIAA-CREF acquired a majority stake in GreenWood Resources, thanks in part to Bach’s work.

Bach has more than 15 years of experience in finance, human resource management, public accounting, and fund and investment management.

EVAN WILSON ’01 put his Linfield College degree in finance and computer science to good use. The former Academic All-American at Linfield is now a senior research analyst and principal at Pacific Crest Securities, where he leads the firm’s coverage of the Internet, social media and games.

For eight straight years, Wilson helped his team earn “Best of the Boutiques” recognition and numerous honorable mentions from Institutional Investor, an international publisher. Wilson is often quoted in The New York TimesWall Street Journal and Bloomberg News, and frequently appears on CNBC.

The “Forty Under 40” celebration and luncheon will be held Feb. 14, and is open to all.
