The magazine this month released its rankings for the 2019 “Best Colleges for Your Money, and for the second straight year Linfield earned the No. 1 spot among liberal arts colleges in Oregon. Linfield ranked No. 2 out of all Oregon colleges, and climbed an astounding 131 slots from last year’s report of universities nationwide.

The ranking places Linfield at 242, higher than Oregon State (304), University of Oregon (361), Pacific University (491), George Fox University (514), Willamette University (523), Lewis & Clark College (585) and Reed College (665).

Money considers several factors to determine value. First, it screens out colleges with graduation rates below the median, financial trouble or enrollment of less than 500 students. The remaining schools were ranked on 26 items in the categories of quality of education, affordability and alumni outcomes.
